More About Junior Golf Scoreboard
Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS) is one of the most widely recognized national
ranking systems for junior golfers in the United States. JGS tracks tournament
results from thousands of junior events each year and creates performance-based
rankings that help players see where they stand competitively on a regional and
national level.
How JGS Benefits JGA.golf Players
- Your results count nationally
The Intermediate Boys/Girls and Advanced Boys/Girls divisions are JGS-ranked.
For a division to qualify for JGS ranking, at least five players in the division must complete all
rounds of the tournament.
To be individually eligible for JGS ranking, a player must have completed four multi-day
stroke play tournaments or multi-round match play qualifiers, totaling eight 18-hole
rounds within the past 365 days, along with meeting all other JGS criteria.
- Visibility to college coaches
Many college recruiters use JGS to evaluate junior players.
Playing in JGS-ranked events helps golfers who start later still get meaningful exposure.
- Performance-based rankings
JGS uses factors like scoring differential, field strength,
and consistency to calculate your ranking, giving players a clear picture of
improvement over time.
